10th of Tevet Fast, this year will be on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. A Fast Day to remember the day when the Babylonians first laid siege to Jerusalem 2,500 years ago, beginning a long line of disasters for the Jewish people.

Kugel Pie
Cook noodles as directed on the package; drain well. Stir in remaining ingredients and half of the melted margarine. Place in a greased casserole and pour over the remaining melted margarine. Bake uncovered at 350 deg F

Mushroom Pie
Lightly grease an 8 inch pie pan, set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cheese powder and salt, stir to mix. Rub-in the butter into the flour mixture, until the mixture resembles crumbles. Drizzle the ice water over the mixture and mix to form soft dough.

Sweet Potato Pie (Parve)
Place sweet potatoes in a 4-quart pot with enough cold water to cover. Cover pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer potatoes until fork-tender, about 45 minutes.Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Broccoli Pie
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart casserole dish. Combine broccoli, onions and cheese in prepared dish. In a small bowl whisk together baking mix, egg, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over broccoli mixture.

Corn Pie
Prick crust well on bottom and sides with fork, par-bake pastry crust with parchment paper and pie weight beans for 5-7 minutes until firm but not brown. Stir together rest of ingredients except paprika and parsley. Pour carefully into pie shell.

Potato Pies
Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Boil till cooked and put through a ricer while still hot. Chop the onion into small bits. Melt the butter and save out 1/2 cup for later. Add the chopped onion and all but the 1/2 cup of melted butter to the hot potatoes, along with the heavy cream.
