Holocaust Remembrance Day
The 27th day of the month of Nisan is the Holocaust
Remembrance Day, is observed as a day of commemoration for the six million Jews
who murdered in the
Holocaust. In Israel,
it is a national memorial day. Yom HaShoah was inaugurated in 1959, anchored in a law
signed by the Prime Minister of Israel David Ben-Gurion and the President of
Israel Yitzhak Ben-Zvi.
Yom Ha'atzmaut
It falls on the 5th
of the Jewish lunar month Iyar, celebrating the declaration of the state of Israel by David
Ben-Gurion in Tel Aviv on May 14, 1948, and the end of the British Mandate of
Palestine. It is always
preceded by Yom Hazikaron, the Israel
fallen soldiers Remembrance Day on the 4th of Iyar (pronounced "eeyahr").
