David Andrew Samberg (born August 18, 1978) is an American stand-up comic, and member of comedy group The Lonely Island. He is a repertory player on Saturday Night Live and has appeared on Premium Blend and Arrested Development, as well as Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the Daily Show With Jon Stewart, and the Late Show with David Letterman. Samberg played the lead role in the 2007 film Hot Rod. He also provides the voice of Ham III in the 2008 animated film Space Chimps.
Samberg was born in Santa Monica, California, the son of Marjorie (née Marrow), an elementary school teacher, and a photographer father. He is Jewish, and his maternal grandfather, Alfred J. Marrow, served as the executive chair of the American Jewish Congress.
